Tang Chor-lai was the second son of a Hong Kong Chinese merchant family who was educated in the UK and was sent to establish the family business in Bangkok after World War l. Tang was given the English first name of 'Charlie' by his UK school mates, opened the original Tang's Oriental outlet in Bangkok in 1930, and was serving the expatriate community and high society of Bangkok until WWII began - and then re-opened the business following the occupation of Thailand by the Japanese after the war ended in 1945. 

Tang's Oriental Asian Pub & Sports Bar has become a modem adaptation of the original Bangkok restaurant offering a casual dining experience, serving our signature Asian burgers and great South-East Asian food, with a sports bar element that has the social and boisterous nature of a European pub.
